Goat Cart filled for Fall

I can't believe I haven't gotten around to sharing the goat cart that I first talked about weeks ago. After searching through Pinterest for ideas, I put it together with mums, vines, and all kinds of white pumpkins. And then the landscape guys showed up and it all went kaput. So this is what I've had in my Garden Room since. The mums went back to the front porch and I substituted moss orbs and faux pumpkins for the real ones. So much for a fun display on the front porch. At least I've been able to enjoy it here in the Garden Room.

I've given up on trying to impress anyone with a lovely Fall display out front. Right now I'm just trying to keep a path to the front door that isn't covered in mud and rocks. Plus the guys end up leaving their tools, gloves, and other paraphernalia strewn across the porch. The back porch isn't much better. leaves, leaves, and more leaves. Plus, we're now having freezing temps overnight for the rest of the week. Goodbye lovely ferns. We've had Fall for only a week.

The pillows on my church pew tend to be traded around every few weeks.
The Indigo ticking pillows are my go-to for most seasons, since they go with almost
everything and the brown floral ones are my fave Fall accessories.

Last week when I put together my vintage birdcage display
I had to set the lantern somewhere.
It ended up here on the pew, and well... it's still here.

My little "what not" shelf has some Fall odds and ends.
I share this at the risk of being labeled with "Granny Decor".
sorry, I collect small things.
This week I'll let the Turkeys run free!

I  have a lot of vintage Thanksgiving postcards, but none that are really Fallish. I chose this one that was closest to an Autumn scene. It's of Ripon Cathedral in North Yorkshire, England and was part of a series of Tuck Postcards, English Cathedrals, dating from 1910.

This postcard reminded me...

Hubby and I love a good mystery, and if it's a British mystery all the better. We're big BritBox fans. Our latest binge was a great period series that's been around for a while, The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher that is available on Amazon. really, really good. I hate to recommend TV or movies, but this one is a 5 star series and absolutely authentic... sets, costumes, scenery.

Have a fun rest of the week!

Hope to see you Monday evening!

  1. Debra,

Your go cart and church pew are beautiful. The church pew is such a special piece to have. I mentioned to my husband over the years I would like one. Never have had a spot.

Hopefully the workers finish soon. I'm sure it's a mess. We finally are getting official cool temps this weekend.

    Enjoy your weekend

    1. I've almost sold that church pew several times becuase I didn't think I'd ever have a spot for it again. so glad I kept it! Have a great rest of the week!

  2. Hi Debra,
I always have loved that church pew and the cart looks amazing. We are getting snow!!!! Ugh!!!!
We hardly had any fall. Hope this is not a sign of what is to be.

    1. I KNOW, we have snow predicted for tonight and tomorrow. We had about 7 days of "Fall" weather, then it started freezing at night. I've been so disappointed because most of the trees haven't even changed. crazy. Have a fun rest of the week, Kris!

  3. I can't get over how much decor you have been rotating, and it's all fabulous in your new home. Your home must be pretty big on storage. Granny decor, haha, I'm right there with you! There's a local estate sale happening this weekend, and it has so much knick-knacky stuff for sale, all I can do is shake my head and say that'll be my sale, as I ponder which pieces I might want, lol.

  4. Oh dear! Granny decor? I guess I'm guilty! Haha. I love the cart. It's darling. How's the landscape coming? The brown pillows on the church pew are beautiful.

  5. Hi Debra!
Your goat cart is so pretty filled with all the fall decor! And, I love the vintage postcard! My hubby and I are enjoying some British TV lately too. We just finished watching Poldark (up to the last season) on Amazon. Oh. my. goodness! It's so good! I can't wait for the next season to come out. Thanks for sharing at Homestyle Gathering!

  8. Sounds like you have a lot going on with landscaping and busy busy busy .. Love the goat cart and I just bought several yards of that floral fabric on your pillows I LoVE iT ! .. Oh and the Suspicions of Mr. Whicher is fabulous we loved it too .. I watch a ton of the Brit shows .. the acting is just superb ! We love the old Sherlock Holmes with Jeremy Brett if you haven't seen those they are super good ! Take care sweet gal !
    Sweet Blessings

  9. I recently went to a big indoor flea market, and I saw so many cute little wagons like this filled with all kinds of things - I am loving this trend! Need to find a wagon.

  10. It all looks so pretty, The cart is stunning.

  11. Granny decor! Ha! I definitely have some of that going on!

I love your goat cart and fall treasures. I am going to check out the series you recommended. I don't watch any TV at all, never really have but I do watch historical and period drama series.

I know how frustrating the landscape mess will be but next fall you will be sharing everything looking beautiful for fall. Hopefully next year we will all have more than just a week between summer and winter!

  12. Oooh, I'll have to check out the British tv show!!! I love pretty much any BBC show so I'm always looking for a new one to watch. :) Love your goat cart with all its fall splendor!!! Maybe it was serendipity that the guy were tearing up the lawn and the goat cart came inside... Happy to feature this wonderful fall post at Share Your Style #231. Thank you, Debra!!!

    Warm fall hugs,
    Barb :)
