Christmas Brunch in Tartan Plaid

A week or so ago, I had a little trial run to set a Christmas Breakfast or Brunch with my Red Transfer ware. I had been looking for Red Tartan Plaid placemats, and found these on Ebay. They were half the retail price from last year, and were brand new in the original packaging from Penneys, so I was glad to find these. I bought two sets, since when I need them, I'm usually setting a table for six.

I wanted to keep things easy and non-fussy; just some pretty dishes and a few sparkly things to make it special. I just layer my different red transferware patterns, with some white, and I'm using some Libby Green Glassware from about 10 years ago. Under the place-setting, I have vintage German tea towels as a large napkin. My German Glass Glitter Christmas Trees are in the vintage Egg Cups and a vintage Christmas Postcard add to the Christmas feel.

A litte Boxwood with a vintage Shiny Brite

There's just enough room on the table for a couple of Glitter Reindeer
and a Silver Teapot with tiny Evergreen Tree.

Silver cream and sugar have a votive candle each.

Here's another peek around the space.

I have kiddos coming in tonight, and I'm so excited.
I haven't seen my older daughter for a year. so crazy.
We used to travel to St. Louis several times a year,
(seeing Hubbs' and my physicians),
but this year I changed heart doctors
then had so many things to deal with my health.
We text and talk almost every day,
but we haven't had a chance to get together.
We only have a few days, but they will be so good.

Have a wonderful weekend and Christmas.
Enjoy each minute with your family and friends.

  2. What a fun table and room! At the last minute, I added a "child's table" in my sunroom, and bought some sipper straw cups for the 7 & under crowd I'm having....but I'm stressing a little over the fact that the cups don't match my playful plaids, lol. Love your green glasses - they look plaid!
Enjoy your time with your girls. I'm thankful mine live in town, the distance would be hard!

  5. That's really perfect for your room. Love it, and balanced with all the white, it isn't screaming red. Merry Christmas and enjoy your breakfast, Sandi

  9. I love the red dishes! So beautiful. I'm pretty sure I purchased napkins this year that , if not the same as your placemats, are really close. The ornament on the plate is perfection. Love this! Thanks for sharing.

  10. You've created the happiest, no-fuss Christmas table. I've been looking everywhere for red transferware but everyone around here has a tight grip on it and won't share! Loved all of your little details too. Every nook and cranny is so merry. Would definitely enjoy meals in there. Thanks for sharing over at the Farmhouse Friday LP. Hope you have the best Friday!
