This is what I'm doing this weekend...

After 4 days of trying to find just the right shade of "taupe"
this is how I feel.

Too pink...
too green...
too brown...
too gold...
looks like cement...
does that look purple to you?...

I've looked at so many paint chips and tried almost as many.
my walls look like a patchwork quilt.

I've finally found the right one, and my daughter Aly will be here with me
this weekend painting the master bedroom and master bath
...and maybe my closet if we have the time and haven't fallen over.

keep a good thought for us,
this is just the beginning...

  1. I know what you mean, Debra! I have only whittled down my paint choices to 3 from 5 for my sunroom. I can probably go down to 2 because I seem to keep going back and forth between them as my final choice. I might as well just pull the third one off the wall {large paint swatches I taped to the wall}. I'm sure it will look great!

I just finished the painting in my granddaughter's room yesterday. This week I will bring over all the stuff I've been collecting in our guest bedroom for her room and set that up. Perfect timing, too, as my son is coming to visit at the end of the month and I need that room cleared out.

  2. Oh Debra, I have BEEN there AND DONE that!!! Didn't want the walls looking like "FLESH"! but definitely wanted beige/tan...
Have fun in your project and be sure to let us ALL KNOW the color/brand you chose??? It's always great to keep these things on file...

  5. Well at least you have a helper! That's always a bonus. Glad you were able to finally find the right shade. Looking forward to seeing it.

  6. Sometimes after I put the samples on the wall I STILL pick the wrong color and end up painting it yet again.

  13. Debra

Isn't that the truth! It takes me so long to make up my mind. I usually paint squares all over the 4 walls to see how it looks in different light. Hope it turns out for you!

  14. So Wilma had the same dilemma....With so many beautiful shades of paint now, it is so very hard to pick "just one" that we feel is "it"...

Sure your room will be fantastic!
