Are you a wee bit Irish?

I think on St. Patrick's Day we're all just a little bit Irish. How about you? A lot of us here in the USA are a mix of heritages; part of the melting pot that makes this country so great. I don't celebrate with green beer or corned beef and cabbage, but I do like to pull out a few "green" things around the house, and that means my few little pieces of green transferware get to show off a little.

This is a little green Meakin transfer sugar and creamer set called "Romantic England", planted with pink hyacinth bulbs.

They're not very old, but have some wonderful crazing. Let's see... after dishwashers, but before microwaves. I just read where this series was manufactured in the late 1950's for primarily the North American market.

This set is out here on the sunporch on the baker's rack, along with a couple of old St. Patty's postcards from 1912.

...One of my English Cottage Cookie Jars and a zinc bucket full of shamrocks. Now, if I can just keep the kitties away from them. They think shamrocks are their salad greens.

yep, here's one of the girls now...
she's on bird patrol.

Love and blessings to you all,

"Fairytale" Inspiration for Easter continued...

Last weekend I shared with you a beautiful new book
by the people that bring us Jeanne d'arc Living magazine,
 entitled "Fairytale Easter".

I fell in love with all the wonderful
Easter and Spring inspired creations that grace each page.

Little did I know when I visited Leola's Vintage Home and Garden Spring Open House last week, that someone else had been inspired to create these same lovely decoupaged eggs. My friend Pam, who always has some of the most amazing creations and displays around, had crafted her own version of these Easter lovelies.

So a few came home with me
for my own Easter display in an old cardboard suitcase.

They joined other bits and pieces of vintage ephemera,
baskets with moss, and a nest or two for a little vintage Easter vignette.

Aren't these embellished vintage Easter postcards
just precious with bits of twine, tulle, and feathers?

One of my collection of old church fans in the background.
Jesus with the lambs are my favorites.

A hyacinth bulb and old book wrapped in stamped cotton ribbon.

It's times like this that I remember that my true love is
"all things vintage".

Be Inspired # 130; Artistically Speaking

Welcome to Be Inspired!
I have a beautiful and one-of-a-kind amazing transformation to share with you today. Judy from 20 North Ora, talented seamstress and designer that she is, has a new companion; Introducing Miss Begonia.

Just when you think it's all "been done" with dress forms, you find this talented lady who has brought this to a new artistic level. Judy took scrap laces, doilies, ribbon, fringe, and even chandelier crystals and waved her magic wand to create this vintage masterpiece. You'll want to go see her process and what she started with. Judy, you need to add "dress designer" to your credits. Just heavenly...

Perfect for Easter and Spring, Kimberly from Serendipity Refined has created this adorable Reclaimed Wood Bunny ArtShe even shares a tutorial. Don't you just love that butterfly?

Tricia from The Little Cottage on the Pond
has been restyling her bedroom,
what a wonderful relaxing space!

love this plate display, too!

Anita from Cedar Hill Ranch has had a great series on "What I wish I knew before blogging"  that you'll really enjoy. Anita tells it like it is with all the ins and outs.

Vickie from Ranger 911 will really brighten up your day with her Spring Flowers and her wonderful mirror that she changes with the seasons.

And in honor of St. Patrick's Day, Mary from At Home on the Bay shares her delicious recipe for Irish Soda Bread...yum.

Be Inspired Showcase and a Winner

Today I'm starting something just a little different...

I've decided that instead of just posting the top visited links from the previous week's Be Inspired, I'm going to showcase three blog posts that I feel are worthy of just a little extra attention here in the blogging kingdom. Many times the top visited links are posts of Pinterest images or other images that are not the sole "inspiration" of the linker. While these are often inspirational and are gorgeous photos, I want this space to be dedicated to a few more posts that are the creation of the blog author themselves. Believe me, I love a great home tour or Pinterest post as much as anyone, I'm just going to be sharing a little more "original" inspiration in this spot. I'm still welcoming your wonderful home tours and Pinterest posts, I'll just be showcasing links in this spot that are original to the blog author.

And today I have three that are exceptionally inspiring!
