A little tweaking makes it Thanksgiving...

Drum roll please...
"The Late Fall Mantel"
da ta da da!!

OK, hope you know I'm kidding.

Just a matter of bringing out the turkeys
in exchange for the snowy owls.

I've kept everything else that I started with back in September. My mantel has been through a few change outs, but now that it's Thanksgiving, most of it will be swapped out for Christmas in just a little over a week.

Here's the Mid Fall Mantel

and the "Super Early Fall Mantel"...

you can see I tweaked the flowers a little too.

Now my Johnson Bros. Turkey Platter gets center stage.

A few small changes in the Entry

with a white turkey covered vegetable...

same for the hallway sideboard;
you guessed it...
more turkeys.

another turkey platter...
(I got more folks)

Salt and Pepper turkeys

big fat turkey painted white...
(He used to be multi colored but was obnoxiously loud,
so he was slapped with the paintbrush)

I'm not done with the turkeys.
You have to suffer through at least one more post of them.
maybe more...

Be sure and come by tomorrow and visit
for some Etsy and Online Boutique Shopping Fun!

Vintage Inspiration Friday # 65: Your Inspiring Thanksgiving

Having a bout with the sickies this last week
has put me at the bottom of the Inspiration Barrel.
Good thing I have you guys to turn to for some of the best out there!

I do have one fella I don't want to leave out.
I'm particularly fond of this little guy,
I guess it's his neutral coloring,
or maybe all the wonderful crazing he has...

so he gets to strut his stuff for a few photos today.

Our younger daughter and her husband that live here in town
are hosting Thanksgiving Dinner this year; her inauguration!
I did make a Birthday cake for our older daughter;
Mississippi Mud, and a Waldorf Salad,
the whole time wearing a Hazmat Suit.
(you know the protective suits they use for hazardous
or toxic spills...only I'm the only thing that's toxic!!)
I haven't had a cold in years, what wonderful timing this was!

My mom and sister are doing the heavy cooking. thank goodness.

So I'm wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend,
full of God's Blessings.

Loved this from Pinterest

Let's take a peek at some of that Inspiration from last week.

Michele from Primp shared a Thanksgiving bunting
that she had made from a free download.
I've seen a lot of garlands and buntings,
but this one really has a wonderful vintage look.

for a wonderfully simple and "homey" Burlap Wreath.
Love that chalkboard background too!

Renee from Where the Grass is Greener has transformed
some little muslin bags into Holiday treasures.
You'll want to go by and check them out

has been decorating her front porch,
you'll love all the fun vintage elements she's used.

creates a Whimsical Nature Themed Tablescape that is so pretty.
You'll want to see all the fabulous photos.
"White" and antlers...hard to get better than that!!

Honestly I could do a dozen more features of all the great tablescapes,
and wonderful furniture and decor ideas!
You guys are awesome!

Hope you'll join in for the party,
"Anything vintage or vintage inspired"
and all your Holiday Decor!
Please have a link within your post.

There's still time to enter the Give Away,

and I'm joining in with these great parties,

love you all bunches,

What's on the Sideboard for Thanksgiving

Now that Thanksgiving is here,
I guess I better share what's been sitting on the sideboard this month.

My big Mr. Turkey got a paint job a few years ago,
during one of my "white" rampages...

Last month I brought in this great window from the garage stash to use for my crows, but I like it so much I think I may keep it here for a little while. It's a good backdrop for my ever changing seasonal print du jour. This month I used one of the prints I found at Robin's Vintage Suitcase Fall Open House. Not very "Thanksgiving-y" but love the muted colors of the birds on the branch.

One of my collection of Turkey platters, this one is Johnson Brothers.

My vintage pie holder has a variety of turkey planters and salt and peppers.

And I've loved using this child's suitcase to anchor the Fall vignettes here.

I'm behind on things due to the cold I've been dealing with,
but I'm already thinking about what I want to do here for Christmas.

I'll be putting up
Vintage Inspiration Friday
early this week, on Wednesday evening.
That way we'll make a weekend of it.

Remember next week we start our Christmas fun.

And if you haven't entered the Give Away

Hope you're week is going well,
the kids will be here Wednesday evening.
better get movin.!!

Wake Up Call!

I had a shocker of a thought yesterday... and that was that Thanksgiving was ACTUALLY next week, and that  our "big kids" from St. Louis would be here. I was living in some sort of alternate universe where I was taking my sweet time about things and all the sudden I had a panic about getting the guest /dump room cleaned up for them. Do you have a room that stuff "lands in" when you don't have time or motivation to deal with things? Hope I'm not alone.

Anywahoos, I still had some things to share that are sort of woods-y/thanksgiving-y, from the basement sitting area, otherwise known as my Holiday Cupboard. I love each holiday and don't want to slight all my fun Thanksgiving decor. Besides, I laughed over a post last week where it was discussed that slighted turkeys might come after us for revenge...can't let that happen.

So for the next few days, even though we all are thinking Christmas,
you're stuck seeing some Thanksgiving decor.
Just trying to be an equal opportunity decorator.

I've also realized that I've used this blog to document my decorating. I find myself looking back thru old posts to check what I did last year. I like to change things up, so as to not let things get stale or boring. It encourages me to try something new, and think out of the box.

OK, hope you all are making progress on your plans for next week.
See ya tomorrow with
Vintage Inspiration Friday

group hugs,
