White Wednesday, I'm in the Closet and a 200th Follower Give-Away

My favorite time of the week,
 White Wednesday!
These are a few photos I have taken of
my little space at Spring Creek lately.
It's only 5' foot wide by 7' foot deep,
so I'm a little challenged space wise.

It's basically white.., but I like to add in some
seasonal color and decor items.

This booth is just like a little closet
...lots of smalls,
and some small furniture items such as desks,
chairs and small tables.
Notice we have a theme goin' here...
"small".

But I do love the "intimacy" of it.

These dishes aren't very old, but I just love
the fall leaves and colors with the white.

Shabby cherub lamp (2) and shade on old
ebossed white chippy chair.

Old clock face that has seen much better days.

I always have seasonal and holiday
postcards in frames.
I started decorating with old postcards years ago.
These are a few of the reproductions of
Halloween cards by Ellen Clapsaddle.

Old bottles are so fun when in a grouping
...tied up in fall colors.

The old cabinet cards found a new use
 with a wire hanger,
old button and a fall ribbon.

Praying hands

Old scales with a travel alarm clock.

Be sure and check out Kathleen at Faded Charm
 for more White Wednesday posts.

But since I was showing my space
for White Wednesday,
I thought I'd just show a few extra
photos of my booth.

This is a reproduction of a cover of
Country Home Magazine from 1933.

Old embossed side chair with another
October magazine cover from 1936.

Odds and ends on a little wicker shelf.

It may be small, but it's fun!

Don't forget we're in the middle of the
Followers Give-Away!
If we reach 200 by Friday night
I'll do an extra give-away!

Hope you enjoy the small things in life!

What I Rescued This Weekend, Monday and Update on Desk

We woke up this morning to temperatures in the upper 50's! Wow, it felt like fall, but the sun sooned warmed us up, even though we stayed in the low 70's all day. I think this is the coolest August we've had for a long, long time. I have to say that August is my least favorite month of the year. Sorry all you great people out there with August birthdays, my husband included. The only redeemable quality to August, in my book, is that the next month is September. Yes, Fall!

So off we went Junkin', but today furniture was not to be found, just some great small goodies, and you know I'm always up for some "small" things.
And as you might have noticed the desk from last week has been painted. I have to say that it looks soooo much better in person. The garage lighting and the tightness of the space, which didn't allow for a good shot, just doesn't do it justice.

Before shot, last Sunday.

Yes, you have seen this one, but remember the photos from "Highlights" magazine, the ones where you had to guess what's different with the picture. OK, look at this one, then look at the next one. Who sees "what's different?"

Can you see it? Yes, the cat carcass on the left.
One of my garage assistants, Miss Wrigley.

My Hubbs found this great black chippy hand mirror.

Great silver stuff.

Another find from my husband. A couple's vacation portraits.
Wish I knew where. In the original frames.
Can't you just imagine these on a mantle or a bedroom vanity?

Little ceramic cream pitcher.

Love this great little silk coin purse.

Jewelry casket, apothacary jar, cake stand, and prisms.

I think this is a calendar graphic.

Cute little black bench in the background.

Jesus prints...I just love them.

Another old crucifix.

Silver goblets and champagne glass.

Old photos of families. I don't see "family" photos very often.

Wonderful old Cabinet Cards.

Do you know why they are called "cabinet cards"? You probably do,
but I didn't... because they were meant to lean against something in a cabinet,
Not to be put in frames.
Be sure to check in with Polly, over at Sassafras Stuff,
to see her junkin finds.

Have a great week,
Hope you found tons of great Junk this last weekend!

What I Rescued this Weekend, Monday

I keep telling myself, "No more furniture that requires a project!"
I keep telling myself, "Enough with the furniture!"
I keep telling myself , "Stop, the garage is full and we need to get the new car in the garage before cold weather!"
Guess what?... "self" has not been listening... because "self" brought home a new piece of furniture that will require a paint project, and now we can barely walk through the garage, once again.

I DID ask my husband's opinion on this one though, unlike the white desk of a few weeks back, and this one had his approval.

It has a small amount of damage on the veneer in front, but that can be smoothed out with some filler, and then it will be painted black. The caning on the secretary back is in great shape and it is very sturdy...so now one more reason to spend time in the garage. Oh, and it's on casters.

Great chippy shelf.

Here's a table full of smalls. I'm looking for fall colors.

I had to have this little bisque doll. What a cutie!

Little apple jam pot, small ironstone bowl and brown pottery.

I just love this orange pottery tea pot!
"Gobble gobble"

Every fall picnic needs an organge plaid Thermos.

"Piano baby" busts and a great advertising thermometer.

Concrete Pekingese

Chalk last supper.

Great little cottage pot holders and hot pads.

How many of you remember shopping at TG&Y or Ben Franklin
with one of these canvas and metal collapsible baskets?
Johnson Bros. ironstone bowl with turkey feathers and a great
cream scrap book of someone's dream house from 1938.

"Instant ancestors"

I really look forward to the weekends. That's when we go junkin'.
Before our girls left home, my husband and I didn't really get to do much
together. He works 6 days a week, but since then we have learned
that time spent together with a common interest is so important.

Go by Sassafras Stuff today and visit Polly, to see her finds from the weekend.
Have a great week!
Debra
