Holiday Cupboard for St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day may not be a big holiday, but it's still a fun one to decorate for. It's a chance to bring out the green and start incorporating it into the Spring season. Temps are still on the chilly side, but it's easy to see the warm weather and that buds and blooms are on the way.

Sharin' O' the Green

Happy St. Patty's Day to all of you! I imagine that many of us here in the U.S. have a smidge of Irish in us. I like to think so, maybe for just today. I have always enjoyed pulling a few green things together to celebrate the Holiday. So I thought I'd share these images with you for a wee bit of Irish fun and hopefully a proper Irish Blessing!

The Irish Cupboard

It's time to do a little celebrating the Irish way,
so I thought I'd try something a little different this year,
and share some decor inspiration with an iconic kitchen staple
...the Irish Cupboard.

The Decoratin' O' the Green!

I don't go all out to decorate for St. Patrick's Day, but I do like to tip my hat to the Irish Holiday. I'm sure I have a little Irish blood in me from someplace and I have a daughter named Erin, so St. Patty's always gets a little attention from me around the house...

An Irish Blessing...

I've always been partial to St. Patrick's Day. The heartfelt sentiments of an Irish Blessing, the beckoning of ancient castles, and lush green hills. The celebrations of friendships and family loyalties, the good wishes and prayers for a blessed year. There may have been a little Irish from my mother's side, so today I'll celebrate the Irish, and send a blessing to all of you.

Styling a DIY Seedbox for St. Patty's Day

All it takes is a few sunny days where the temps are 50 and above and you'll find me puttering around with seed boxes, seed packets, and some old gardening tools. This week will be the "official" start of Spring so I'm having fun bringing a little green for St. Patrick's Day onto the Baker's Rack in the kitchen sitting area.

A little Birdie told me...

That it will be Spring in just one week!

I had to share this adorable little pillow from Judy.
It makes me want to chirp...

The kitchen sitting area is getting Spring-ified,
and some St. Patty's Green is coming out.

What are you up to this weekend?
Hope it has some green in it!

I've opened a FaceBook page
for the Blog,
CLICK HERE for some behind the scenes fun.
Maybe Instagram will be next,
who knows, I'm feeling crazy...

Are you a wee bit Irish?

I think on St. Patrick's Day we're all just a little bit Irish. How about you? A lot of us here in the USA are a mix of heritages; part of the melting pot that makes this country so great. I don't celebrate with green beer or corned beef and cabbage, but I do like to pull out a few "green" things around the house, and that means my few little pieces of green transferware get to show off a little.

This is a little green Meakin transfer sugar and creamer set called "Romantic England", planted with pink hyacinth bulbs.

They're not very old, but have some wonderful crazing. Let's see... after dishwashers, but before microwaves. I just read where this series was manufactured in the late 1950's for primarily the North American market.

This set is out here on the sunporch on the baker's rack, along with a couple of old St. Patty's postcards from 1912.

...One of my English Cottage Cookie Jars and a zinc bucket full of shamrocks. Now, if I can just keep the kitties away from them. They think shamrocks are their salad greens.

yep, here's one of the girls now...
she's on bird patrol.

Love and blessings to you all,
