I've got a few very large conch shells from trips we've taken, that have some great stories behind how they were obtained and how they made it home. ;)Rita C at Panoplyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17351306074493103021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6448019025261796302.post-70932135575010898962022-07-23T01:06:51.500-05:002022-07-23T01:06:51.500-05:00Your altered bottles are the best Debra. I LOVE those bottles! Your shells and the ways you displayed them are stunning. I love the mix of summer flowers with shells. When we move to the beach I simply must have flowers similar to my Kentucky cottage gardens and I love the thought of merging coastal and garden cottage styles. Love the queen cloche too. You made me curious if there could be some connection you could make there...I sent you an email!

The large shells are fabulous. I have many more shells but I was still too tired from vacation to fo as much as I had planned for this hop. Plenty of ideas now for next year and I think I am going to go ahead and schedule this same theme/time for next year so people can plan ahead.

By the way, I also think of lakes with coastal decor. My dad lives in Cleveland and when I was little I visited Lake Erie and I remember wading in the small lapping waves and collecting interesting rocks along the shores. Also there are lighthouses and ships. It all works!

Love this post! I remember my mother propping open the kitchen door with a shell from her honeymoon too. Even though I live on an island and a super short bike ride to the water, I don't have a lot of coastal decor either so I really appreciate how you thoughtfully weaved the season into your home.
