Thanksgiving Welcome Home Tour

So glad you're here, Friends. I'm grateful and thankful for each of you. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and weekend!

Hello Everyone, holidays have a tendency to creep up on my decorating schedule. Thanksgiving to Christmas is especially tricky for me because I really enjoy late Fall, Thanksgiving and November and don't like to get in a hurry to jump into Christmas with both feet.

Let's start in the Entry...

I always end up with extra seasonal pics/posts that I don't have time for, so I've found it's fun just to combine things for a Home Tour. So welcome to my Thanksgiving Home Tour where I can include all the decorating I didn't get a chance to share and at the same time, a little tour to keep for Thanksgiving posterity, tehe.

The last time I shared the entry was at the beginning of September and I kept the same look with the floral arrangement. I just updated the arrangement with fall leaves and deeper hydrangea hues minus the sunflowers. My Autumn vintage botanical print was changed out for my favorite Thanksgiving print, The Angelus by Jean Francois Millet.

On to the Dining Room

The Dining Room has a large statement centerpiece with one of the textured pumpkins that I made in the fall. AND I finally purchased one of the wooden pedestal risers from Antique Farmhouse that I've had my eye on for months. Each one is different and lovely. The one I received was a little bright white for pairing with the Pottery Barn urn so I dabbed a bit of antique creamy chalk paint around and now it matches a bit better.

On the buffet I'm using another of my companion Fall prints, this one a bit bigger than the one in the Entry. The Gleaners by Jean Francois Millet.

Here's a better pic of the vintage Millet print from several years ago

The Hearth Room

The Hearth Room mantel was put together to make a quick transition to Christmas. I brought out my house lanterns that I purchased last year at Michaels and my grapevine "topiary" cones that I painted white several years ago.

A few of my pheasant "planters" from the 60's and a duck planter from the same time stand in for turkeys during late Fall.

I found this Thanksgiving turkey pillow cover on Amazon this year. He gives a vintage seasonal graphic to the room. One of my brown plaid Tartan throws is on the back of the chair for a quick warm up by the fire.

I usually have the little natural look tree in the corner but since the sewing cabinet with a lamp is there now, I just tucked it in between the Cookbook Cupboard and the Sideboard.

My vintage Burberry plaid umbrella shares the space next to the old picket fence gate.

The Garden Room

Out in the Garden Room the Holiday Cupboard is filled with brown transferware, pottery, and my collection of vintage turkeys.

My antique Flying Geese quilt (that was an antique when I bought it) in fall colors is on the wicker settee with floral and plaid pillows and one of my hooked pumpkin pillows. I've had this quilt for about 35 years and use it each and every Fall.

A few weeks ago I repainted an amazing tote that I found back in the 80's that was due for a makeover. It went from stained wood to a painted distressed finish which now works so well on the farmtable for a versatile floral centerpiece. I've already started the changeup for Christmas and I'm using it again with updated seasonal Christmas florals.

Thanks so much for coming by friends. I know we're all preparing for friends and family gatherings, so have a wonderful time and I'll see you later in the week, excited for Christmas!

  2. Your home and vignettes are so beautiful. Light and lovely, elegant yet warm. So much of your personality shows through and it's always a joy to see it. I love how you put the leaves around the base of your lighted tree. What a great idea for "falling it up" before Christmas! Happy Thanksgiving, my friend.

  3. Cozeeeee! I am so glad you shared this late fall home tour, there is too much beauty to skip over this time of year. I love that little tree so much, it is perfect for transitioning, along with all of your other copper touches and natural accents. I did notice the sweet little bird on the entryway table. I keep little birds and nests out year round these days. All the birds don't fly south for the winter, so why not enjoy them indoors too?

Love the peasants on the mantel and of course all the turkeys in the baker's rack. So fun to get together today! Happy Thanksgiving dear friend!

  4. Your home tour is amazing. Love your Baker Rack color scheme this year. I notice you used a bushel basket to house one of your trees, I have a few bushel basket i use for pine cone but I may use them for tree this year. Great ideas.

  6. I so love your love of fall, Debra. Your decor is beautiful. I kind of wish I wasn't so anxious for Christmas (my favorite holiday) when I see all of your fall displayed. I love how you embrace every last bit of the season before going to Christmas. It's all gorgeous. I love the centerpieces on your dining table, esp the large urn and turkey. One of our members of the antique purse collectors has a figural beaded purse in the Angelus pattern. It is so gorgeous, a little work of art in itself. Thanks for sharing your cozy fall inspiration. You inspire me, most definitely!
