Fall Carts and Wagons and a Porch Peek

Hi Friends and Happy Weekend!

I've been decorating the front porch for Fall this week and was contemplating bringing out one of the goat carts to "fallify". I love using it as a focal point in Fall decorating. My hubby took me to buy a few pumpkins and mums at my favorite pumpkin barn; just a few... because we have hoodlum squirrels here and nothing is safe. Here are a few pics of the progress on the porch with most everything sprayed with peppermint concentrate. We live on a street with a lot of school traffic, so I guess I'll not try to put anything out here that I can't live without. So I'll share some Pinterest cart and wagon inspiration instead. Maybe I'll just put together a fun look out on the back porch.

First, a few pics of the porch that are a bit different this year. I usually have mums in these smallish urn/planters, but I thought I'd try pumpkins this season. A few bits of faux leaves and bittersweet vine add a bit of color to the urns.

My fern is looking a little sad, so she got accessorized with a few small pumpkins, and the old galvanized French watering can has some faux flowers, leaves and grasses.

Now to carts and wagons decorated for Fall...
These pics are from last year in the Garden Room with my goat cart.

hmmm. something happened to the other pumpkin?

This post is from 2013 at the first blogging house,
(isn't that bookpage screen amazing?)

from our previous home in 2015.

I painted the black goat cart gray a couple of years ago so it would work better for all the seasons. Black was wonderful for Fall, but it wasn't too pretty in Spring and Summer... so now it's that lovely neutral distressed French Gray.

Pinterest has been around for awhile, and one of the downfalls is that many of the photos no longer have the original source. There are a lot of bogus sites out there getting traffic and making money off blogger's photos, mine included. So unless I find the original source I won't be giving the fake sites credit. If you recognize any of the photo sources please let me know and I'll share it.

Here are some of my wheelbarrow,
 wagon, and goat cart favorites.

Pumpkin Wheelbarrow Display Green and cream pumpkins are well-suited for early fall, when summer still lingers. Assemble the gourds in a wooden wheelbarrow, adding berry vines for extra color and stacking pumpkins to give height to the tableau. As the season progresses, incorporate more orange and yellow gourds to capture the changing landscape of autumn.

  1. It's all beautiful, Debra, but I especially love your cart this year (and all the others). There is something so charming about a cart!

  2. I love the simplicity of the pumpkin in the urn as you have yours, with the acorn squash and little flourished of leaves and vine. I do kinda miss my cast iron urn I used to have (although, if I'm being honest with myself, it'd really be too big for the scale of my home now). My flower beds are switched from summer to fall (pansies) as of yesterday, so today I want to suddenly add a few fall flourishes. I keep telling myself to refrain, so far it's worked, but I could easily be persuaded to act otherwise. These are all such nice inspirational vignettes. Our stoop is small, but it's begging for a little somethin' somethin'. ;)

  4. This makes me so excited for Fall, Debra! I feel like Floridians need a "Fall Redo" this week. I'm looking forward to putting our porch back together now that the storm has passed and I can't wait to see how yours comes together too. I'm totally obsessed with all these goat cart and wheelbarrow images. They scream cozy Fall harvest which is something we could definitely use right now. Thanks for the inspo sweet friend, I love it all! Hugs, CoCo

  8. Debra, such a gorgeous front porch and I like your goat cart painted both ways!! The collection of fall carts you've shared are really wonderful!!! That was one of the things I really loved about visiting my parents when they lived in Connecticut ~ carts were piled high out on people's front lawns and we were able to just enjoy them as we drove by...

    Enjoy yours!
    Barb :)

And I was happy to feature your post at Share Your Style this week (#363) as you know. <3
