Vintage Cottage Weekend: Dining Room French Country Easter

Hi there Friends, thanks so much for coming by our Vintage Cottage Weekend. I've been working in the Dining Room the last few days to bring out some Easter decor. I found a new piece of fabric for a tablerunner that I'm so excited about. I love a brown and pastel floral for Spring, so it's a fresh new subtle look for my table. But before I shared this year's look, I wanted to take a look back at last year's Dining Room with French country vibes for the Easter season.

Last year I did a lighter touch for Easter and kept it pretty simple. This is a lovely very old antique mirror here above the washstand in the corner, but it tends to look a bit plain. So I like to keep some other wreath or adornment on it to dress it up a bit, especially for holidays.

I started out by adding my mossy "O" to the mirror. I love this small brown check wired ribbon as a subtle neutral for Spring. Then I added the little tussy mussy with vibrant faux spring flowers in the small iron urn. Next, I added the few blooms to the top of the mirror to bring in some color.

This spot still needed a little touch of Easter so I did my favorite family holiday decor tip and added a few vintage postcards to the mirror. My paternal grandmother would add photos and postcards on her vanity and entry mirror. I've realized that this little decor addition can instantly bring a seasonal or holiday vibe.

A few more vintage cards are on the metal wire plant stand
on a reproduction card/photo display.

The spring/Easter dining table has my little French wagon with my sheep tureen, the gray metal Italian basket, and one of the iron urns with faux paperwhites tied with more of the brown check ribbon.

I love using (faux) Paperwhites, and have them out throughout the year.

The buffet holds the tabletop conservatory
and the cloches with the little lambs.

My lambie has snuggled in to a grapevine "nest".

I noticed that the glass cloches really needed a good cleaning. I had "windexed" them, but looks like I was just moving the dust around, not getting rid of it. The little sheep are grazing in vintage silver candy/condiment pieces.

Here's a peek at this year's Dining Room...
a little more color going on for Easter.
I fell in love with that pink and polka dot ribbon!
