Mini Easter Brunch Tablescape and Vintage Decoupaged Bottles

Every once in a while the crafty bug bites me and I get the urge to create a little something fun, especially if it's for a  "holiday".  I really enjoy using decoupage with Mod Podge because it's such an easy method. Well, I say "easy" as a relative term, since it is a bit messy and imprecise. But since I love vintage goods, I've found using old bottles for decoupage to be a wonderful way create small gifts and holiday mementos.

My hubby has a stash of old bottles, so I asked if he could spare a few for my Easter bottle project. Only requirement other than size, is that it be flat or slightly curved on one side. I've made these before for Christmas, July 4th, Thanksgiving and Halloween and I thought they turned out super cute. I'd given a few away, sold some at one of my booth spaces, and kept a few for myself. Not sure where they are now after 2 moves but I may make a few again as repeats.

I thought these little bottles could be filled with Jelly Beans or other small candies, but I wanted to use them to display small bits of greenery, ivy, and baby fern fronds. They look so sweet on a window sill when they are "rooting" ivies. But today I wanted to show how they might be used for a mini brunch tablescape for Easter and for individual place settings.

You could even incorporate the name for a "place card" bottle
with a permanent marker or glitter pen.

I don't consider myself to be a tablescaper, but I do enjoy putting together coordinating dishware and china for a fun vintage look. I'm using a combination of vintage green transferware and French faience with a sweet little chick themed Easter tea towel for a napkin. The tea cup holds a bitsy fern for another guest gift.

I thought this would be cute and appropriate for a "children's table".
I know my girls loved Beatrix Potter illustrations
and stories when they were small.

I made these Spring-y decoupaged bird themed bottles a few years ago.

(*this isn't a sponsored post, just sharing the fun)
I found the holiday vintage themed clip art from this item.

  6. These are so cute, Debra! Thanks for the source you found for the images.
Lol, I had to laugh. Seeing these bottles reminds me I have two altered art bottles SOMEwhere in my stuff. Haven't seen those old friends since 2019. Your tablescape is darling. Don't sell yourself short - you ARE a tablescaper, or anything else you want to be.

    1. So sorry about the ad. I have about zero control over what ads you see. I have an ad setting, but no control. I'm on my blog tons and I've never seen an add that was questionable. If you'd like to let me know I can speak to the company, but I have to know what the content.
