Wooden Christmas Star on the Potting Bench

Hey There Friends, you know me, there's always a last minute bit of holiday fun that I want to share. My sister brought by my Christmas gift last weekend so we could enjoy it a bit before Christmas this week.

My sis gets around on Instagram much more than I do, and she happened to see this wonderful rustic looking Christmas star. My brother-in-law put one together for her and I absolutely loved it. So they made one for me last minute.

(Christmas Star on my sister's back fence)

My sis painted mine an antique white for me so that was a nice surprise. After they dropped it off we hunted through all the Christmas tubs but I couldn't find any of my millions of strings of Christmas lights. We ended up having to go to a few stores trying to hunt some down. I ended up with this rope lighting, which isn't really "rustic" or "vintage" looking but it's all we could find the weekend before Christmas. What happens if your tree lights go out last minute? hmmm.😢

Here it is in the Garden Room before we attached the rope lighting. It's pliable and bendable, so it was easy to make a sharp angle. We attached the rope with clear Scotch packing tape. Next year I'll find some white Christmas tree lights and just wrap them around the star for a more vintage look.

I wasn't sure where to put it because it's pretty good size, but decided it would be perfect on the potting bench on the covered porch out back. My hubby used a nail to secure it in place on the old door, while it's sitting on the old potting table.

Our family often comes in through the back entrance into the Garden Room since it's an easy spot to park with a short walk. I wanted to have things decorated a little out on the porch, so I grabbed a few pieces of faux greenery and faux mini trees, and stuck them in an old crate and watering can. Then with the star lit up, it's a really festive entrance. Plus, you can see it from outer space!

My Momma and Baby rabbits are enjoying the Christmas star, too.

I hope you're enjoying the Christmas weekend.
Have a blessed time with your families and I'm sending love and hugs
to you all for the celebration of the birth of Jesus.

Hope you'll join us for the Monday Linky Party.
