French Country Thanksgiving in the Dining Room

Hi Friends, I hope you're having a lovely weekend, wherever you may be.
I'm still sharing Thanksgiving Decor here,
because well, it's still the first week of November
and we haven't even had Thanksgiving yet.
So... I'm still enjoying all the vintage goodness
that late Fall brings.

Today, I'm sharing some pics of my Dining Room
and I'm hoping that it's not too late for you all to enjoy Thanksgiving.

My Italian metal basket is here (as usual). It transitions in contents as the seasons do.
Preserved leaves and Hydrangeas and a few gourds and pumpkins thrown in.

My tabletop French Gray wagon has been here for awhile, too.
This season it's carrying a vintage ironstone tureen
nested in a wild grapevine and moss garland.
That little garland/wreath is plain with moss on it
and it goes with whatever season is at hand.

My two vintage tapestry pumpkins are along for the ride.
They have a new sibling that should be here any day!
(I'm so excited!)

My gorgeous burlap stenciled runner is here for late Fall.
I love the muted brown burlap and wonderful French Chateau stencil.
It usually makes an appearance this time of year.

The buffet has some feathered friends under glass.
(sheep are usually there)
Not pheasants, but little vintage turkeys.
I've had these little silver compotes under cloches this year.
Now for Thanksgiving the turkeys are taking the coveted spot.

I have to laugh at this one,
he looks pretty smug with the grin on his face.
Maybe cause he's not real and has escaped being dinner.

One of my vintage turkey platters is decorating the old wire plant stand.

And some trailing bittersweet vine is wrapped around
one of my antique mirrors.

Here's my little corner of the Dining Room;
you can find that post HERE.

Here are some pics from last year's Late Fall Dining Room;
it's one of my favorite looks.

Have a great weekend, friends.

  1. Of course it's not too late for Thanksgiving, Debra! I really wish we could all just enjoy things more in present time. I'm typically an impatient person, but taking walks every day is certainly a good way to stay in time with the natural flow of things. I'm happy we're having a long fall (we still have leaves on trees). Your dining area is beautiful. I love the simplicity of the trailing bittersweet!

    1. Hi Rita, I so agree with you about enjoying things in present time. Most of the bloggers are doing Christmas now, and I'm still in Thanksgiving mode. We're having a late Fall and most of the trees haven't even turned color yet! I know you must be enjoying your new home and with that it's one thing at a time. Have a wonderful "fall" week ahead!

  2. These are all lovely but those pieces under the cloches are especially calling me right now! I love seeing Thanksgiving and fall. I can't even finished decorating for THAT season and seeing Christmas makes me feel like a lazy slacker! Plus, I love this time of year. And it certainly is beautiful at your home.

  3. I’m still in Thanksgiving mode too. Your vintage turkeys are always darling. I’m so glad you snagged a needlepoint pumpkin. I love those.
