Celebrating Easter in the Garden Room

Hi Friends, so glad you're here for the Celebrating Easter Mini Hop! Today I'm joining in with five other blogging friends to share a bit of our fun Easter Decor. My sweet friend Amber from Follow the Yellow Brick Home is hosting our small group today that's big on Easter Joy! If you're coming from Amber's then WELCOME, and I'm happy you're following along with our Hop.

I've always felt like the change of seasons were a huge blessing; it keeps things interesting and updated. I really love changing up the decor out here in the Garden Room/Sunroom because it's the perfect place to bring in fresh seasonal color and vintage items. Today I thought I'd share some of those fun vintage pieces that bring the soft pastel colors of spring blooms and the fresh new promise of life in nature.

A few weeks ago I opened the doors to the Holiday Cupboard
so all the bunnies and Easter goodies could say Hello.
You can see the post on the Easter Cupboard HERE.
It's filled with small sentimental Easter treasures
that I've collected through the years.

This time of year the Holiday Cupboard is filled with green transferware
and other bits and pieces of spring themed dishes, ironstone,
and small sentimental items.

The sitting area has a set of white wicker pieces that I've had for about twenty years. Other vintage white pieces are out here too, including an old coffee table/bench that my dad made and an old baker's rack that isn't "vintage" but I've had since the 90's. I enjoy changing out the settee and chair with old quilts, coverlets, and pillows that coordinate with the season.

I bought this wonderful large patchwork quilt
in muted pastels from Pottery Barn last year.
I brought it out after Christmas this year to lighten things up and it's still here.

As you can see on the settee, Miss Wrigley loves to nap here and I didn't want to disturb her to get pics. The kitties are getting into their later years so they get some special treatment now. That's one of the reasons for the needlepoint foot stool. It helps old kitties onto their favorite nap spot. We have those all around the house.

Happily, I found a box that had been in storage with some
of my vintage pieces this year.
I picked up these old fabric rabbits when I was selling vintage pieces
and have loved the precious look on the larger one's face.
They are tucked into a grapevine basket filled with faux paperwhites
and an Easter egg garland.

A white wooden breakfast tray is holding a wooden cut-out rabbit
that's wearing a brightly checked spring ribbon.
One of the Beatrix Potter books that I bought for the girls
is here along with a Royal Dalton baby dish set from the 90's.
I found the dishes in the original box at a vintage market.
I picked them up for a future grandbaby; still waiting on that one.

What can I say... I love a shelf to decorate.
So the old baker's rack out here is the perfect spot
to display current seasonal vintage pieces.

This old stained box with the word SEED stenciled
is something that I always keep on the baker's rack.
It usually holds vintage garden tools
along with some current seasonal fun items.

Vintage "Sees" Easter Candy tin.
Makes me wonder if chocolates (and what kind) were inside.

Book Page Decoupaged Rabbit

A few weeks ago I shared the pastel pieces here on the bottom shelf
and how I was forcing a few large branches of my Tulip Tree.

This year I opted to use the back side of a vintage family quilt.
I thought I'd try the yellow solid this year for a change.

This is the blue floral opposite side with the yellow on the back.
I love the blue floral, but it didn't work with the neutral patchwork quilt.

My lone green toddler chair from when I was three,
is holding a vintage metal lunch basket
and one of my sweet sheep.

And after decorating all the shelves?
Well, a knob to decorate will do!

I hope you'll continue on the Hop
by going by to visit Christy at Our Southern Home
and checking out her last minute Easter ideas.

Thanks so much for coming by.
Let us always remember the real reason for Easter...
The resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I hope you're having a lovely and mindful
 Good Friday and Easter Week.
