A Touch of Easter in the Dining Room

I did a light touch of Easter decorating in the Dining Room this year. I wanted to bring in more "Spring" decor than all out Easter decor. My sheep and lambs were let loose to roam in here in late February after I put away all the winter elements. I've mentioned before that much of the time I don't really take it all in until after I've taken photos and I'm sitting down to edit them.

That's when I can see clearly if I have "too much" stuff going on or that I might need to add a little something in to the mix. I started taking pics with mostly basics here on the washstand, then noticed there wasn't much of interest so I started out by adding my mossy "O" to the mirror. I love this small brown check wired ribbon as a subtle neutral for Spring. Then  I added the little tussy mussy with vibrant faux spring flowers in the small iron urn.

Next, I added the few blooms to the top of the mirror to bring in some color.

If you've been with me since we moved here,
you'll know about my antique family washstand that I've had for years.
It sat in the entry in my childhood home,
which was a farmhouse built in the mid 1800's.
Mom had painted it the "retro green" and that's what it was
when she gave it to me 20 years ago.

This spot still needed a little touch of Easter
so I did my favorite family holiday decor tip
and added a few vintage postcards to the mirror.

My paternal grandmother would add photos and postcards
on her vanity and entry mirror.
I've realized that this little decor addition can instantly
bring a seasonal or holiday vibe.

A few more vintage cards are on the metal wire plant stand
on a reproduction card/photo display.

Someday I'll get crazy and try some other pieces
on the washstand, but right now these just seem to feel right.

The spring dining table has
my little French wagon with my sheep tureen,
the gray metal Italian basket,
and one of the iron urns with faux paperwhites
tied with more of the brown check ribbon.

The buffet holds the tabletop conservatory
and the cloches with the little lambs.

I noticed in the previous post that the glass cloches really needed a good cleaning.
I had "windexed" it but looks like I was just moving the dust around, not getting rid of it.

If you missed the full post from last week
in the Dining Room you can find it Here.

Do you have plans this weekend?
I'm hoping for warm and sunny.
I'm tired of the cold, rain, wind and drizzles.
