Harvest Home Fall Blog Hop

Hello Friends, I'm here today to share some wonderful Fall Goodness with all of you. Whether you're still hanging on to the last warm days of Summer, or like me, and have jumped headlong into Autumn, I hope you'll join me and 7 other bloggers for a peek at our homes for the Fall Season.

Amber from Follow the Yellow Brick Home has gathered up a great group of bloggers who love Fall and invite you into their homes for a little tour of their spaces decorated for Autumn.

If you're coming over from Diana's place, Adirondack Girl @ Heart, then WELCOME, I'm so glad you're here! I always love to see the outside of everyone's home, so I hope these will give you a little idea. These next two photos are from last year and the year before of the front porch. I have my porch ready, but the hook that holds up my door basket decided to break yesterday, so I'll be doing a post on the porch early next week. (bad timing) I can't say that it looks much different this year.

OK, let's come inside...
I'm big on keeping the Seasons current here. I try to reflect the Seasons and Holidays with the colors of nature in all my accessories and florals. I like a neutral background so it's easy to transition into whatever Season is coming up. Pillows, flower arrangements, prints, and vintage items change up to keep in step with the calender.

I'm starting off in the Dining Room, where all the decorating usually begins... this is always my "starting" spot for my Seasonal decor. I like to use different fabrics for my tablerunner here on the Dining Room table that bring out the colors of the Season I'm in.

I'm a lazy decorator when it comes to tablerunners. I just buy a 3 yard piece of fabric and fold it in halves and iron under the selvages for a quick and easy change up each Season. I bought this piece last year, and definitely had Autumn in mind with it's gorgeous design in golds, browns, and reds. I usually keep a larger piece of burlap underneath to give the tablerunner a little extra width. I love the look of dark wood, but I need to break it up with something lighter and then add some pattern.

I'm not a "tablescaping" type of person like so many are in blogland, but I love using a few pieces of vintage and antique Ironstone and Transferware in my decor, so I've sprinkled a few Fall leaves onto the platter and tureen here on the table.

Last year I painted this scroll-y metal iron basket with Chalk Paint from black to a warm gray. The lighter gray blends in with my other lighter colored pieces and makes it more usable no matter what the Season or Holiday. I usually keep a mix of Hydrangeas and something Seasonal in the basket. For Autumn I'm mixing in Fall leaves and pumpkins in shades of whites, grays, and greens, that have all been painted with Chalk Paint.

We've lived in our current home for 3 years now, and wow, does time ever fly by! One of my favorite features of this home is the 11 foot ceilings, which give me a chance to decorate "UP". It seems like every flat surface has to have something on top of it; at least here it's not crowding the ceiling!

Even the cloches get their Seasonal makeover...

One of my favorite ways to change up the feel of a room is with prints; many of them I collect are vintage pieces. Here on the buffet it's a calender page Botanical of a gray/white Hydrangea mounted on an old bare linen canvas.

It's sitting on top of an old Transferware Basin in colors of Fall,
filled with moss and velvet pumpkins.

One of my Topiaries with a little sprinkling of Fall leaves.

This little built in cupboard isn't very big,
but it holds a lot of dishes and china.

Antique Aesthetic Transferware Tureen

As you can see this is a little oddity of the house that I don't show very often, but I've gotten used to it. The Dining Room area is really small, but it seems larger because of the open stairway.

My old window with real vintage Botanical specimens is one of my favorite pieces.

Now let's head to the Kitchen Sitting Area, my favorite room in the house.

I'm just showing the highlights today, because I'll be back later in the week to share the details of all the vintage fun in here. I have a couple of new pieces for the Season I want to share with you all.

I've probably done more posts on my Baker's Rack than I have any one other thing in my 8 years of blogging. Someone once jokingly told me that it needed it's own blog. Oh well, I've gotten a lot of mileage out of this 90's Spiegel Catalog beauty (haha). I've threatened to retire it, but I have to have a place to pile up all my "junk".

As you can see, even though I love a neutral backdrop,
I'm not afraid of a little Orange.

Thanks so much for coming by on the Hop. Fall is my favorite time of the year, so I have tons more fun to share with you. If you haven't been over to Diana's blog then please don't miss her, and then you can head over to Jaclyn's at Fancy Pants Mommy Co.
