Vintage Black Friday, Indulge me... AND a Blogaversary!

Vintage Black Friday is here again hosted by Jill at Gypsy Brocante, and before fall slips away into a sea of Wonderful White Christmas, I thought I'd share a little impromptu vignette, that I pulled together on my coffee table in the sitting area of my lower level family area.
My favorite part of having booth space at a flea market is the ability to satisfy the urge to create vignettes. My house looks like a "store" at times, so I have to try to tone it down...hard, very hard! These are a few pictures of things I grabbed from around the house and "staged" here for some fun.

Here's a little black wagon with some fall produce, and a black gothic stand holding my big chippy chalk squirrel bank.

A great little vintage black floral tray holding nesting boxes, a black teapot "for one", and a fruit print that is usually in my kitchen.

Don't you just love the cut-outs
on this little gothic hexagonal stand?!!
Kind of has a Moroccan feel to it.

This is one of a set of very small "pocket books" that I found at a flea market this summer. It is collected poems of Edgar Allen Poe.

And an UPDATE: My inspiration, Theresa of Garden Antiques Vintage is having her 3 Year Blogaversary Party. Run on over and check out her great post. She's planning a great PAR-TAY and give-away to celebrate! Happy Anniversary "Sweet T"!!!

Now, I've got to get busy with some last minute
things since I have the kids coming from St. Louis and
my husband's brother and his wife coming from Texas.
I'll see you in a few days.

Gots to love on my kids!!

Hope you are having a "Wonder-Fall" time of the year.
I know I am! I'm savoring every moment!

A Special Invitation

I have a special invitation to all of you friends who read this blog. Last week I started a new on-line Bible Study. It's more of a time to share thoughts and ideas on what God is doing in my life. There are a few of us that have really enjoyed our time together. We've had a place to share experiences and open up interactive conversations about our lives, our hearts, and our relationships with God.
There's no work involved, you don't have to "sign on" to participate, and I'd love to have you drop by...and maybe say "Hello". So if you'd like to have a place to share your thoughts, and your faith, or maybe just a place to go to get a little taste of the Word, then come for a visit. The link will always be on my side bar.

 Hope to see you there!

Blessings,
Debra

Wishing Big on White Wednesday

This is another day for "two, two, two parties in one",
well three, if you count my previous post.

I had so much fun with the Multiples Party,
that I wanted to play along with Vintage Junky's
"Wish List Party".
Her instructions were to be totally selfish,
and find something for which you were wishing.
And of course, I just love participating in White Wednesday,
so today I'm doing both!

Classical English Conservatory

OK, so I'm going BIG

And while I'm at it I'll take the flagstone or brick paver patio.

I love English Country Design and this is just something
I have admired and desired for a long time.
Do I need it? no. Would I love to have it? yes.
Today you get just a hint at my totally decadent desires.

OK, it won't fit in a stocking.
My life is full of wonderful people and things,
But there are just a few items that a girl can wish for...

And THEN, I could do this...!
AHHHH, just a little daydreaming, here.
I'll try not to let it get out of hand.

I guess if you're going to wish, it needs to be good!

And Kathleen at Faded Charm

And may all your "White Wishes" Come True!

Me too...I'm a Flea Marketeer

Just like any little kid, I saw that there was a party
and I wanted to come.
So here I am, hopefully, not too late.
I've been enjoying everyone's posts
showing flea market finds.
Here are a few urns and concrete items
that are on my hearth in my Living Room.
They have been precious flea market discoveries,
 one and all.

Can't wait for the first issue of Flea Market Style Magazine.

Here's to the Party!

Look what we did this weekend!!!

It was on the order of an epic, Yes, the red sea parted in our garage! Alyson's husband, Chris, our son-in-law, rescued us this weekend. He is a "spatial genius" and organizer extraordinare and a really great guy. He bails us out of all kinds of projects that my husband and I have that are BIG.

Having the garage full meant my husband has to park outside, and with bad weather only a few weeks away it was really weighing on me to somehow get this "cleanout" accomplished. He's been so good not to complain, because he knows I was doing the best I could. I had no where to take it, and wasn't feeling up to a sale or making any big decisions about how to deal with it all.

I didn't have a lot of BIG items, but lots of smaller ones, and tons of "tubs" for storage of smalls. Chris to the rescue. Hubs and I can stand and discuss a situation, debate on it and then walk away from being overwhelmed. Chris on the other hand dives in head first and before you know it. Things are "lookiiiinnng good"!

It took us most of the day, and a lot of hard work. I directed traffic, argued (oh, excuse me...discussed) and swept the floors while the guys did the hard work.

But the end result was so much better. Yes, I still have the stuff, but now the pressure is off and I have a much happier husband.

No more scraping the windshield at 7:30 in the morning. Yehaw! (well, I didn't scrape, but I felt guilty that my husband had to.)

And now when the garage doors are up and someone drives by I don't have to hang my head in shame, or be worried that there is talk in the neighborhood about "the crazy lady with all the junk in the garage"!

Feels Good!

Remember, you're invited to come by my new blog, "a day in the life..." (on my side bar) an online, Bible Study. It's not so much "study" as it is a time of sharing and "fellowship". If you would like to connect with some friends this is a good spot. Even if you're involved in an other Bible Study, this is not time consuming. I think you may be surprised, and get a big blessing!

Come join me on my journey...online Bible Study Blog

I've been wanting to do this for awhile, and I guess today's the day. Thinking, praying, and considering this has finally given way to actually doing it.  "A Day in the Life" is born. When this title was given to me, I realized there were a few other blogs with this same title, but this is what I was led to use, so if you link up to me here, be sure to see that I have added Common Ground to the url. This will hopefully be somewhat interactive. I am encouraging you to sign on as a follower here at the beginning. I'm going to be sharing with you what God is sharing with me. So without further explanation, come on over to my new blog site. I have a more in depth concept going on there with my first post. I have a link on my side bar to make this easy.
OK, see ya there!
