Book Page Pumpkin Candle Covers

Every once in a while I see a cute and easy craft project that I feel confident that I can accomplish in a few hours time without making myself crazy. Do you know what I mean?... does that ever happen to you? I used to get involved in these complicated projects that invariably took much more time than I thought it would, take more money than I planned to spend, and end up in a mess. yuk. So now I tend to try things that I feel are not above my skill level and that oftentimes I have the materials on hand.

Vintage Birdcage Candleholder with Seashells

I get on a mini seashell obsession during the months of July and August. Seashells are "summer" to me, so I don't display them other times of the year. Since we live in the middle of the Midwest, (no where anything "coastal"), I have to take advantage of this time of year. So last week I shared a display in the Garden Room, and this week I have a fun Pinterest inspiration vignette in the Entry.

Valentines By Candlelight

Hello Friends and Welcome to the Lifestyle of Love gathering hosted by our friend Cindy, of County Road 407, where today we're sharing how we use candles and candlesticks in our vintage decor. This is an every-other month group where we share how we use topic items in our vintage decor. Since it's just a few days before Valentine's Day I thought I'd share how I use candles and a favorite pair of vintage candlesticks in a sweet vignette.

Mason Jar Candy Corn Votives

Hi Friends, are you ready for some Fall Fun? Today I'm joining in with a great group of vintage-loving friends to share how we use Mason Jars. We all love the humble Mason/Ball jar, created in the mid 1800's, and many of us collect the vintage and antique variety. They are still being made today, and while I don't "can" with them I do use them for so many things, from a sturdy little drinking glass (perfect for a lemonade on the porch) to an easy to put together candle holder.

Hello February at All About Home #25

Hi Friends, so glad you're here!
Everyone glad we're on to February? January is always a hard month because we have the anticlimax of "after Christmas" and things just seem sort of blah to a lot of us. I'm ready for all the fun of Valentine's Day and some "sweet" inspiration.  You too? so you've come to the right place. Let's have some fun this month!

Vintage Valentine Vignette

I've been trying to round up some of my Valentine's Day decor and realizing a box is likely hidden underneath a stack of boxes in my storage room. I know... story of my life these last 6 or so years. I know exactly what's missing, I just don't know where it is. So I'm using a few vintage cupid pieces that were easy to get my hands on in the china closet.

Olive Bucket Candleholders on the Cheap

Hi Friends... are you like me and see something you just have to have and you can't get it out of your brain? Do you obsess over an idea, thought or photo until you work it out to either make it yourself or just get it over with and buy the dang thing? I think there's a lot of that going on around blog land; it's part of out creative process, or maybe it's just some kind of Internet illness floating around. Either way, it rarely goes away on it's own...

Not So Boring Shell Decor Inspiration

After posting my last post on my Seashell Entry Vignette, I got to looking through Pinterest for some other ideas using seashells. If you're like me, you may have boxes or tubs filled with loose shells from long ago vacations that are screaming to be used in something fun, beautiful, and inspirational. I've made some collages of random images to give you some ideas. Once I saw all these I realized how easily I can get into a predictable and "boring" place. So enjoy and let your creative imagination go. I think the easiest might be to just take the tealight out of it's metal container and place in the shell for some quick romantic Summer ambiance.
