Easy Festive Votives with Plaid and Boxwood

Hi Everyone, I hope you're having a wonderful weekend.
Getting the Christmas decorating in hand, shopping,
making plans for this busy time of year...
and enjoying your loved one's companionship.

We spent most of the day hanging prints, unpacking a few boxes,
and generally trying to get the lower level in order for family Christmas.
It takes me a while to decide where prints need to go.
I don't want to overdo it, but I want it to look homey and comfortable,
Like someone actually LIVES here.

...So time got away from me.
And before I knew it the light was drifting away.
My plan was to share the Dining Room Table Vignette,
but the pics were grainy and dark.
So I improvised...

I had purchased three of these larger votive glass cups
to use on the mantle display,
but they were lost in the arrangement.
I decided to dress them up a little with Plaid Ribbon
and a little sprig of Fresh Boxwood.

They were super easy, just some wired ribbon, with Boxwood added.
I'm missing my massive Holly Bushes, so Boxwood will do.

These would be so pretty at each place setting,
 with any Holiday Ribbon
for an extra bit of Celebration at a Candlelight Christmas Dinner.

They came to the rescue since it was getting dark,
and added a special glow to the table vignette.

I've had this little English Kensington teapot, depicting a hunt scene for years.
I think it's perfect with some transferware cups and saucers with the Tartan Plaid.

So here's to an impromptu Tea,
with a little Holiday mood lighting!

  11. That's what I would do...tea and candlelight. Spiced lemon tea for me please. :-) I have been having trouble with lighting lately. Too many dark days! I need sunshine to take pics of my projects and décor...or you all will be looking at last year's Christmas pics. Ha! I do not like flash, or overhead light. I need a light umbrella. And I need a good tripod. Your impromptu tea looks great! Sheila

  13. Your English teapot with hunting scene caught my attention first thing, very nice. It's good to hold onto some things for long time isn't it? my problem is want to hang onto everything I cherish for when I might want to use it again, who knows when that might be? Love your table scape.
AT our house out in country in KY I Had my choice of so many natural items to pick when I wanted them. Had boxwood, lilies, forsythias, tulips, tete a tetes, hydrangeas and some great woody vines from shrubs. One year for holidays decided to use bird nests on tree, then thought about putting some vines around tree for garland. Went out to side yard and boy did I hit pay dirt, that tree looked so rustic with vines around it. WHen hubs got home off road even he liked it.
Love your transfer ware cups, so pretty. That was one thing I didn't buy in KY where it was more available and much more affordable. Have great week
