Some chipmunk fun...

I have to say "sorry" for the blurry photos up front. This post is sort of an experiment, hope you all don't mind being the "guinea pigs" for my lackluster techy skills. Actually this is close to "guinea pigs", since I'm showing you one of my little visitors on the deck the last few days.

These pics were taken through my kitchen window above the sink,
 that's why they're so blurry.

Early in the week I put out this old enamel wash pan filled with seeds for the birds. The cats and I need our entertainment from the sunporch you know. So besides the birdies, we've had our regular squirrels and then my favorite little buddies, the chips.

This one is having a great time filling his pouches with all the yummies, but what's been the real laugh, is seeing him bob up and down making sure no one is going to grab him. He's on the alert, but really wants to take advantage of his good fortune in finding the mother load of seed.

My camera has a video option, so this is my first time using it. I'm hoping it works. If it doesn't, then just look at the blurry pictures and imagine you see him doing his thing. He had me in stitches, but then it doesn't take a lot to amuse me now-days.

It's a minute of up and down, up and down. But like I said, this was my first time inserting a video into a blog post. Stay tuned later today for the cliff hanger on my "Late Fall Mantle". I know you all are on the edge of your seats waiting for it. Oh and the racket in the background is my dryer. I have a load of rocks in it evidently...

Thanks for indulging me,
hope you have a chuckle from this,
xoxo,

I guess it doesn't take much to amuse me either! I loved your post and had to "chuckle"! Hugs, Penny

Too cute ~ isn't wildlife fun to watch. Your outdoor smorgasbord must be the talk of the neighborhood (: Yesterday I stopped and watched a squirrel drag a giant pinecone across the street. Like you, it doesn't take much!

This is so adorable. It looks like he puts in a lot of exercise during his meals. Lol!

Your little visitor needs a name, for sure. Something that matches his (her?) personality.

Oh how lucky you are to have chipmunks!! I wonder if you put a clear glass bowl out there if he'd still bob up and down. You'd be able to see him doing his full cheek-stuffing routine. Of course it wouldn't have the vintage goodness of the enamel bowl. Thanks for the entertainment! :)

Oh...this is hysterical, Debra! What a cutie! You did a great job with the video, I'm still smiling!

Looking forward to your late fall mantel...I am sort of tired with mine and need some fresh ideas.

XO,
Jane

Ooooh!... that is soooo cute Debra!!!... and your little video is adorable! Is that Chip or Dale???... I would just sit there all day long (you know how much I LOVE your sunporch) and watch the little cutie!... but then, I'd probably have to try to go out and pet him... animals really do know when we love them so much... excited to see your late Fall mantel later... we got blasted again in the night (day 3 now) with another foot of snow... but I actually see a bit of sun coming out now!... much love, xoxo Julie Marie

That little chipmunk looks like a yoyo - up and down, up and down. He is so cute. Guess we don't have chipmunks here. They look like squirrels, only smaller???

Cute.

I love your little video. He is bobbing up and down so fast I wouldn't think he would have enough time to add anything to those full little cheeks. Super cute.

That is just too funny, Debra! I loved watching his little head bob up & down! The chipmunks here drive our cocker spaniel crazy (thru the sun room window, of course!).

The chipmunk would have gotten to me too. It's a good thing to be so easily amused. BTW, I finally posted a thank you on my post for the wonderful feature you did on the ranch. It has a link to your blog. Thanks again for the fabulous feature you did actually awhile back! Oh my better late than never right???

I remeber watching chipmunks when I was a little girl. Of course, we always thought the same one was visiting and called him Chip. I miss having chipmunks around. Thanks for sharing!

He is adorable! Just don't let him anywhere near your Christmas lights up on the second story roofline of your house. Just sayin'.

This is so very cute, dear Debra! Thank you for sharing the sweet video and pictures. I love squirrel and chip munks very much. Here I haven't seen any squirrels yet and chip munks are not located in Europe. What a shame.
Hugs to you,
Julia
