An Easter Visit with Peter Rabbit

Hope you're having a wonderful start to the
Easter weekend.

Before it's too late, I wanted to share a few photos of these little "Easter" candy molds with you. I don't think either one is old, but I paired them up with two little vintage books that I found last year. Both Peter Rabbit titles that were published in 1921.

When I was very young we used to visit my grandparents who had a whole closet still filled with my uncle's and daddy's children's books. I could spend hours in that large attic closet. Looking through old books and playing games. These little books are from that same era. Because of that I'm always on the lookout for this type of old children's books. The graphics are just my favorite.

Enjoy your family this weekend.
Give them extra hugs and let them know how much you love them.

Happy Easter,

  10. This is such a sweet display. I adore the books, & the molds do look old. I've seen some similar ones in antique & thrift stores, & they always have a very "olden" price tag....lol!

  16. The old print and pictures have the best color. It last for ever today's work just fades with time. Plus the faces of the characters are little different just exactly how I can't quite put my finger on.

I loved doing the same thing when I was a little girl. My Mom was an avid reader and had bookshelves full of books. I would spend hours just looking through them.

I love the Peter Rabbit book, it's precious.

Happy Easter to you sweet friend.

  22. Sweet memories! Reminds me of a book we had as kids, not as old and no where near a classic but fond memories all the same. Don't remember the title exactly but a family of bunnies walkin', or truckin' as my brother read it(which may give you the era) down the road to call on old friend toad. Good times!
    Happy Easter, Susanne.

  23. Lovely. Thanks for sharing. I must admit I'm a bit envious of your lamb mold. I have looked and looked for a lamb (a realistic looking lamb, not a stuffed or silly one) to put on my Easter mantel to represent the Lamb of God, but I have had no luck. I was very disapppointed and can't understand why I couldn't even find one at Mardel's, our local Christian book store. Anyway, a blessed and happy Easter to you.
