White Wednesday, Little White Christmas Churches

There is just something so serene and peaceful about a country church. From my childhood drives with my family I can remember the small clapboard structures with the towering steeples. And when the snow dusted their rooftops they became magically beautiful; a place where one could slip inside, sit quietly in a back pew, and marvel at the sunlight streaming through the stained glass windows.
Here are a few of my small Christmas churches that I've been collecting for the last several years. These next few are found in my "Holiday Cupboard", which I showed this last Monday.

These next few are on a tray on my coffee table downstairs.
Mostly metal votive holders.

This one is bisque.

These next few photos are newer larger lighted ones,
 with small interior bulbs.
I love how they look at night all aglow.

And this one in my Dining Room was a gift
from my daughter Erin a few years ago.
We found it at the Seed Box when they had their store in Ozark.
Even though it's not technically "white", I wanted to share it.

Hope you're having a blissful week.
Many of you are getting snow.
Maybe we will all have a White Christmas!

Say Hello to Kathleen and all the others at

Happy White Wednesday,
Debra

  1. Oh how precious!!! I love them. I actually did a church stained glass stepping stone for the pastor of our little church, a birthday present. It was quite primitive, but she loved it. I have been going to my little country church for 32 years now... I absolutely love it and the people are my second family. We have probably 100 members and usually 50-60 each Sunday.
Glad you missed the storm... they are calling for 50 mph winds today that is going to blow the 8 inches of snow around and -3 tonight... I am so blessed to have a warm house to stay in.

  13. Debra, your collection of churches made me smile this morning when I brought your post up. I LOVE churches. When I drive into little towns around I look for the steeples and I love it when their bells ring. They add such charm to a city. All of your pretty churches must also add such charm to your cottage.
    Hugs~

Your collection is fantastic...I love each and every one!! Well, I am partial to the sparkly ones and the last one you bought in Ozark. I too, love looking for the church steeples and then driving by. The more simple, the better.

Have I said how much I love glancing in your windows and seeing bits and pieces of your house? LOLOL

Seriously though... you need some cinder blocks just for one of those gorgeous churches so that you can think of me...I'm gonna go see what I can find...
